Pierson’s ‘Kingdom of Shadows’ AW11 collection was a definite hit amongst the fashionistas packed into the On|Off show space. Taking inspiration from diverse sources such as sixteenth and seventeenth century anatomists and the films of Kubrick, Pierson’s collection played with the silhouette; soft draping was contrasted with highly structured, restrictive corsets and jackets. Tough leather and chain jewellery were softened with candy-coloured, billowing stripes, whilst devoré trousers and blouses added a glamourous edge. Favourite pieces included a high-waisted leather pencil skirt and a corseted, ruffle neck blouse with balloon sleeve.
